SIERRA NEVADA HOUNDS FOUNDATION

Established in 2022, the Sierra Nevada Hounds Foundation (SNHF) is a 501(c)(3) organization formed to:

  •  Promote the art and science of riding to hounds through its partner organization Sierra Nevada Hounds;

  • Provide for the training, care, and feeding of a pack of hounds;

  • Conserve and protect suitable hunt country with emphasis on public land;

  • Educate the public about the sport, the hounds, the land and wildlife;

  • Promote and support programs that encourage young people in equestrian activities; and,

  • Support other community and charitable purposes. 

 

Examples of specific programs currently in place include: 

  • Supporting and educating youth through a cooperative program with United States Pony Clubs in Northern California and Nevada.

  • Participation in the mentorship program based at Innovations Big Picture Charter High School in Reno;

  • Conservation of public land through organized and repeated efforts to clean up the land and remove hazards to people and wildlife;

  • Caring for, rehabilitating, and re-homing injured or disabled horses and hounds;

  • Serving as the nexus for an outstanding intergenerational community.

The Foundation raises funds to support these goals and programs.  Tax deductible donations to the Sierra Nevada Hounds Foundation are always welcome and appreciated.
